Love to fish, love to be out on the water. You caught me. We've got the photos to prove it.
I do a little painting, too. Fishes, of course.
Moonlight Fly Fishing in Michigan

You all know that I practice cruelty-free fly fishing. Yep, no hook, no trouble for anybody. Now, this sends any proper trout bum straight into a conniption fit, let me tell you, but it suits me just fine, & it keeps me from catching too many underwater logs or trees above in the dark. I was thankful for that on this wonderful night of fishing in July, 2011.
I had a lot of fun on a larger fresh water fishery up in Michigan under the big, bright moon, having a cheap, peaceful date with The Mister & about 8 million super friendly mosquitoes.
My Nana used to say, "Darling, ladies do not sweat; they glow." Well, with the temperature in the upper 80's, & the humidity rising, I was glowing like a greased pig, as you can see.
Fly fishing isn't the fanciest dress date, but it's my favorite look. I'm trying to convince the fashionable set that this is a look that's always trending.
We had fun, I bothered some brown trout who obliged me by fooling around with my pretty pink fly, & a good time was had by all. It keeps me out of trouble & out in Nature. What more could a gal want?

We trout bums all know that the worse the weather, the better the fishing. This day up by The Holy Waters proved that 10 times over. The Mister had better luck than I did, mostly because I was manning the camera all day. Rainy days in the Upper Midwest make for fine photos, most of the time.
The point is this: some days you catch fish & some days you don't, but you always have a fine time, rain or shine.
Rain doesn't mean much, if you're already hip deep in water. "Wet" is wet, & it suits the trout & this bum just fine.

Between fly fishing forays, I clean up, work hard, & behave myself...mostly.

Yep, it's all true. Gotta work to fish, so I do what I can making books & pictures. Besides my favorite fishing hat, I wear a couple more over at Charmed Life.
Here's some unsolicited advice for you, one trout bum to another:
Work to fly fish, my friend. Fly fish often enough that your waders & boots never completely dry out between fly fishing forays. Live life as a trout bum, & everything else falls into place. Take care of the fishes. Take care of the water. Be grateful you're healthy enough to fly fish. Be glad.
And, for Pete's sake, get your tuckus into those waders & get out fly fishing whenever & wherever you can. Life is short, & the fish are jumping!
Thanks for stopping by to visit. We'll see you bums upstream.
Tight lines & best wishes to you & yours...Cocoa
